seen on the streets of Tallinn

When I saw this photo, I had to ask the photographer Daniel Anton for permission to post it here. He tells me that he took it this past June while on a trip through Europe. He took the photo in the city of Tallinn in Estonia. For more photos from his tour, you can check out his Flickr photostream. He didn’t know what brand or model it is, and I couldn’t read the badge on the front. Anyone know what it is?

My pal Illnoise over at 2strokebuzz let me in on his research:

“You can’t read the badge because it’s in Cyrillic. : )

It’s a Mid-70s Tula Tourist 200 from the Soviet Union.

Sounds like they’re still making bikes, but I can’t find their website.

It’s ‘ТУЛА’ in russian, if you want to hunt down more info, but Tula is a region of russia, so ‘Tula Tourist’ just finds seven million hotel listings and sightseeing tips.”
