Yesterday we saw the print, “Pink Vespa” from Jennifer DeDonato – today’s super cool find is also from her colorflystudio etsy shop. This original cut paper collage is called “Vespa Wind,” is 8 inches by 10 inches, and would be perfect for hanging over your fireplace. Hmmm… or maybe it will be perfect for over my fireplace. Thanks again to colorflystudio for permission to use this image here.

Linda C. in California sent me these photos of her limited edition Pink Hibiscus Honda Metropolitan, along with this note:
“Crystal,
“Here are some pictures of my 2007 Honda Metropolitan, pink hibiscus special edition. I received the scooter as a birthday gift from my hubby. I had a Honda motorcycle as a teenager and riding again gives me such joy. I bought a few accessories to pimp my ride and it has been great fun decorating my beloved new toy!
“The decals were purchased from Hawaii at Decal Dragons and Stuck on Maui. They are on my rear trunk and helmet. The pink polka dot basket liner, monogrammed with ‘HONDA’ is from Pottery Barn Kids. The wicker basket gives the scoot an island vibe that goes with the hibiscus flower panels. I have a chrome license plate holder with bling, swarovski crystals, that I got on Ebay. I have a pink Honda baseball hat with hibiscus flowers embroidered on it. As you can see, I’m having too much fun shopping for my scoot!”
Here are a few more photos of Linda’s ride:

Along with Fisher-Price’s Laugh & Learn: Shop and Learn Walker, Hasbro’s Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin Pup and Hannah Montana’s Malibu Beach House, the Classic Lights & Sounds Tricycle from Radio Flyer has made the 2008 “holiday hot toys” list from Toys R Us. But then, we already knew it would.

In tribute of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’ve decided to repost about the Schwinn Hope series of scooters. The Schwinn Hope 50 raised over $100,000 over the last three years for breast cancer research, and Schwinn wants to do the same with its 150 version, the Hope 150.
Maybe the Hope will inspire you to do your own ride – for example, one Hope rider I know of, Barbara, rode her 50cc Hope 1,100 miles to honor her friend who passed away from breast cancer, and to raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The Schwinn Hope 150 has a suggested retail price of $1,999, and gets an estimated 87 miles per gallon. A portion of every sale goes to breast cancer awareness and research causes. Read more about Schwinn’s participation in breast cancer research here: Schwinn Donates Hope Scooters to Komen Foundation. Find a dealer on the web site.

I got a special request from a pink scooter riding reader, Jessica, to find a pair of pink goggles for her and her pink scooter riding friend Angie. Not an easy task, since most goggles that are made for summer wear are only those made for motocross/dirt biking, and not a lot of those come in pink in adult sizes. I found these super cool (literally and figuratively) pink goggles, the Oakley XS O Frame MX Goggles
that have top reviews and a reasonable price of $29. I was surprised that Bobster only makes one pair of goggles in pink. The writeup says they will fit those with small faces. I’ll keep looking!

Mon B. sent me this letter, along with a link to Pink:
“This is a link to a pic of my MotoFino MF50QT-2 scooter at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery outside the city of Saint Louis. His name is ‘Pink’, oddly enough. While Pink is only 50cc’s, he’s still an enjoyable ride around the city, and I ride him 25-50 miles just about every day. The basket you see on the rear has now been replaced with a roomy pink trunk so I can carry LOTS of important ‘stuff.’
“One thing I enjoy is my ride through a large wooded park on my way to the cemetary. One doe in particular seems to be a touch confused when I ride past her (maybe 5 foot away) and turns her head back and forth with this, What is it? Should I worry? Huh? Huh? look on her face…just LOVE that look! She has never run away. Yesterday I saw a young buck who DID take off quickly.
“I have found that the scent of skunk lingers……….on…and on….”
